pokier diesel felicia

Featured Replies

Does anyone know how to give my wee felicia a bit more oomph its low milage and well looked after but i wish it pulled a wee bit better. its a 1.9d. Any ideas????

When I got mine (in Worcestershire) it was two years old with 14,000 miles and wouldn't have pulled the skin off a rice pudding! I drove it home that day (to Northern Ireland) and kept up a brisk pace of 75-80 mph the whole way up the M6. The total journey was 450 miles. I think that was the best thing that had ever happened to it.

Try a good long brisk run, within motorway speed limits of course!

I've heard mechanics say that a diesel engine doesn't go well until it's got 100,000 miles on it. Mine's now got 120,000 miles and runs as well as a Felicia ever will, bearing in mind it's no F1.

I would suggest a clean air and fuel filter, clean out any ai intake pipes etc.

Give it a tank of good quality normal fuel, and a double dose of something like millers diesel clean (or powerplus or whatever it's called these days).

Warm the car up gently, then give it a good brisk drive around the m/way keeping the revs reasonably high to clean all the cr*p out of the engine.

Past that you would probably be throwing away money if you are after more omph, but you could do weight saving or handling upgrades should you desire.

when we get cars at work that need this doing its refered to as italian tuning!

really does work tho

So many tweeks can be done on petrol motors! and nothing can be done with diesels!!........thats a little unfair...!

You get better fuel economy!! I only got 195 miles out of 3/4 of a tank on my 1.6 the other week (Town driving and a heavy right foot!)

get a petrol! :P

Thanks for all the suggestions! I think what i shall have to do is get a set of lowering springs or something like that so i can keep the pace through the corners that i built up on the straights!!!!.
