VAG to buy proton(And lotus with it)

Featured Replies

Porsche and VAG (especially Audi) have worked closely together for a while, the old 924 was more audi bits than porka, and the other way on several of the old rs audi models they used porsche brake which still had the porsche name on the callipers.

The 924 had a VW van engine!!

Porsche designed and tuned the Favorit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It'd be bloody awful I bet! Imagine how screwed up the handling would be with that big lump in the back!

In the middle, surely - a mid engined diesel might work pretty well, you'd be putting the big lump of weight right in the middle.

More interesting, to me, is the idea of a potential Europa with the 3.2TSI. That'd be absolutely brutal.

I read recently that Porsche were going to up their stake in VAG, with the distinct possibility of a full takeover.

Porsce did the brakes & suspension, the car itself was designed by bertone and the tuning was in house iirc.
