dogs in an octavia hatch!

Featured Replies

I've been looking for an Octavia estate and found that one in my price range is about as rare as rocking horse poo. So, I wondered if from your experience, you think it would be reasonable to put a dog in an Octavia hatchback??

Hmm, he'll still have plenty of space, but less of a 'box-shaped' one.

I have a hatch and don't have any trouble with the dog in the back , just take the parcel shelf out and he has plenty of room ..............mind you it does depend on the size of the dog , ours is a Staffi X , so a medium sized dog .........if going on long trips , I put his basket in the boot and he stays in there ..............most of the time ;)

We're just about to introduce our dog to the delights of the Octy vRS - he's used to travelling in a split screen VW camper so should enjoy the extra speed.

Just make sure you cover the rear bumper if you dog jumps in the boot to prevent scratches.

I started a thread in my maintenance yesterday about dog guards for Octy hatches.

Have a big Labrador and he is fine in the back with the parcel shelf removed, no problems at all.

I have 3 medium sized mutts regularly in the back.No problems apart from mud and dog hairs.David

Depends on the size of the dog !!!

My Irish Wolfhound would not fit in the hatch. Also remember that if you are going for the vRS hatch, there are strut braces in the way for the rear suspension...

I bought a 4x4 estate for exactly this reason. No regrets.

Many thanks for the replys guys, I suppose we would be looking at the upper end of the "mediu" dog range - boxer dog.
