Hello from Inverness

Featured Replies

Hi found Briskoda while searching for some info on my bog standard Fabia.

The engine managemant warning light keeps coming on. From what I can find, it could be anything a loose tail light bulb to low oil level. Weird??

The Inverness dealer wants to change the lambda probes. Even although they were changed 12000 miles ago at some considerable cost.

Anyhow, does anyone know how to reset the warning light without engine diagnostic computer things?

I used to drive a Rover, and to reset the immobilizer, insert the key into the door lock, turn it to the left 4 times, to the right 3 times, all while standing on one foot with your left hand on your head. (Something like that !)

Is there anything similar for the Skoda????

Finally, are there any good 'independant' garages for service/repairs for Skodas in or around Inverness? The Inverness dealer doesn't inspire confidence and seems more interested in selling me a new car than repairing his one.

Cheers

Snowie

Welcome, may be better to post your question in the Fabia section. Maybe somebody up your way with VAG comm that could help

Hiya.

Check some of the things like light bulbs and oil level that should be done regularish anyway. Failing that, try an independant garage that's likely to still have mechanics, rather than just "vehicle technicians".

Delmore Cars Ltd - Inverness.. - BRISKODA - The Skoda Forums

Ha, ha! They certainly don't inspire confidence....

Anyway regarding your problem, I understand VAG COM software is readily avaialable. I am tempted to get a lead and a copy of the software myself since I am unlikely to stray from these (VAG) cars fro a few years (until Hydrogen Power cells).

1st call I'd try Kenny's VW Audi Specialist

Phone and ask if they can do diagnostics for year and model - I can't reccomend them, but I wish I had gone to them first if you know what I mean!

Please let me know how you get on!
