Fabia 1.4tdi

Featured Replies

HI,

I WAS WONDERING IF ANYONE COULD TELL ME THERE OPINIONS ON THE SKODA FABIA 1.4TDI, AS I AM THINKING OF BUYING ONE ALSO I was going to get the 15 inch 6 spoke Skoda alloys with it but I was wondering

would this sacrafice the ride quality of the Fabia, e.g. would it be like my Fiat Punto and crash over pot holes and bad road surfaces with the 15 inch alloys.

1.9 is better. :P say no more.

Top Gear Mag tested it in the polo against the MINI One D (and the Ibiza 1.9tdi 130 but that is too powerful and came first unsurprisingly) and came second. It is quite frugal, but i'd say spend the little extra (if you can) and go for the 1.9 TDI there is a big difference.

and about the 15 inch 6 spoke alloys, would they sacrafice the ride quality of the fabia guys.

No...would be fine on 15"s...

Rob.

My current furby is running on 15" Golf GTI alloys and feels pretty much the same as running on 185/60R14 steels... Now, going to 17" with 205/40 tyres is a different matter altogether! :D

15" is a good happy medium between the comfort of steels in general driving and the performance of alloy wheels.
