Pucking alloys!!!!!!

Featured Replies

My vrs is just over a year old cleaning her today and noticed the alloys have some bubbles under the laquer mainly on the fronts but some on the rears also. It definately looks like corrosion seems to be on the back edge of the spokes.

It's really annoying I thought they'd last longer than that!

The worst part of it is they are imaculate otherwise I have been so careful not to kurb them. I have kept them clean as possible always cleaned by hand never used those alloy cleaners as they are well known to cause corrosion! I also noticed the vrs sill plates have some surface corrosion on them too!

Trouble is I don't know if this will be covered under warranty? Any ideas folks?

Before anyone asks I don't live anywhere near the sea or wash my car with hydrochloric acid or salty water!!

Should be covered by your warranty so dont panic.

as long as you haven't clanged them on a kerb then it should be covered.

Yup, i'd go back to the dealer if I were you. It does seem to be a common problem on recent cars (don't know why though? Maybe a change in the way they're made), but they should be replaced under warranty.

Either that or send them away to get them polished :) I've seen some 'chrome effect' polishers and they look damn fine.

If you want standard then as already stated, head to the dealers and have them, and the sill plates, replaced.
