Rear window washer

Featured Replies

Bloody thing doesnt work, now i can barely see out the back its so caked in muck lol.

I thought it was because i was low on fluid (light was on) but refilled it and it still aint squirting. The pumps working ok though.

How am i best going to solve this and is it a haynes 5 spanner or 1 spanner??

cheers

I had mine sorted the other day under warranty :)

cheers guys. ill have a look and phone my dealer as a last resort, seeing as how virtually nothing would invoke a warranty claim it seems

had the same problem it was leaking into the boot a metal pipe that goes through the wiper motor was coroded so i got a new motor from a scrappy

Make sure you have OEM screen wash in it before you take it to the dealer.

surely if youve got a decent winter highly concentrated ready mix solution from halfords, theyre not going to kick up a fuss...

...wait what am i saying (sorry i live in lala land where it rains donuts)

Afraid so - read the bulletin.

It's a feature of Fan Jet washers.

Colonel Shoe,

Just noticed you sig piccie... Calvin & Hobbes... Fantastic!!!!!!!!

Common problem. Odds are that the tube from underneath the reservoir has come adrift. Get it fixed soon or there's a high probability that fluid will be pumped into the n/s footwell, soaking the carpet. That happened to me. Took it to dealer, who fixed tube back foc. And we had a coffee!

Engine bay at the passenger side bulkhead is where the pipe commonly becomes disconnected. Two minute job to snap it back together, a bit longer if the car has ABS as the ABS unit is in the way.

Don't see why it should be a warranty job, if the the screen wash had frozen at the jet and the back pressure had caused the pipe to disconnect, you can't warrant against the laws of physics.

Any sensible dealer would do it as good will gesture.

This is common on pretty much all VAG cars between 1997? and current. My a3 and ibiza both suffered.

Absolutely spot on Fordfan :-D !

Tube connector had come apart, water simply getting pumped onto the ground lol. Managed to get my arm in and click the connector back together. Hooray I dont have to go to the dealer cap in hand.

the power of the forum works lol

Bulkhead pipe adrift , but cannot see pipe from reservoir( or feel but don't know where bottom of reservoir is ) ---any ideas where to look , or are chances that pipe has come off -and visit to dealer needed --04 fabia ,so still technically under warranty. Printed out bulletin to show dealer if need be .Can't see any arguement , my wash solution is 50/50 .

Undo the bottom edge of the n/s arch liner at the front, folt it up and you can see the pump.

Please do not go waving bulletin's under your dealer's nose. These are confidential documents which shouldn't really be in the public domain. If Skoda UK want to get funny they'll have them removed and then they'll not help anyone.

The dealer should have a copy and will know what to look at.

Printed out bulletin to show dealer if need be.

Dont be silly, the dealer will not want to see a copy of thier own bulletin. Showing them that will only probably upset them and may possibly cause issue for the kind person that hosted said bulletin to help you out.
