Greenlight wont insure Fabia VRS anymore

Featured Replies

Or you could just skip the insurance. Surely 2 million people can't be wrong?

I'm with Greenlight btw... :)

Given how many people in this country techincally drive without 100% insurance cover i.e. they've not ticked the right box, weren't aware of the implications of modifying (even changing the H/U in the car!) etc I am sure 99% of insurance companies would be fine providing you hadn't really pushed the boat out, if it's something negligable most will be ok.

An example, my TDCi Zetec S was a write off (or pretty much) but they paid out, even though it had K&N filter, tuning box and lowered all still on the car and I didn't delcare a bean.

I understand this case is probably unusual and i'm sure certain insurers wouldn't pay, but providing you don't go OTT with the lies i'm sure you'll be fine.

As I am with GreenLight I have declared everything, however i'm sure someone somewhere may forget to let the insurance company know about those tints, that subwoofer or something minor.

Just my 2p worth.

P.S. I am not trying to encourage lieing, simply being a realist.

Have to agree to some extent, I've been paid out before with a pannel filter on that wasn't declared. Insurance company didn't even view the car, they went off photo's of the damage from the repairer. I certainly didn't have an army of people crawling all over the car plugging in diagnostic tools to see if the car had been remaped, or opening the airbox to see if it had a pannel filter...

Although if I had lowered the car or changed the alloy's, i.e. blantently obvious things had been changed then I would have informed the insurance company straight away instead of leaving it till renewal time.

Like Hellfire, not encouraging lieing or not declaring, far from it, just adding some realism

I'm with Greenlight, they said this to me last year but reinsured me.

Mine is of course totally standard. ;)
