Feeler: Group buy Oil?

Featured Replies

This is only a feeler and as such I haven't had any go ahead or anything but I just wondered if there would be much interest.

Talking to a friend at a local motor factor I was asking after the Millers XF Long Life oil.

This comes in 0w-30 (VW503.0/506.0/506.1) which is being phased out and replaced by a 5w30 which on calling I am told is a VW504/507 oil.

Details can be found there:

Now the stuff comes in cases of 4 * 5L bottles (yes 5L not 4) so I will be buying at least one case of this. I think the price will be £38 per bottle, which is about £7.60 per litre, although I guess with a reasonable number it might be less.

Obviously this would be a get at a meet or collection only item as I'm not posting 20L of oil, but if people are interested I will ask about getting a discount for more than a case purchased.

If anyone is interested could you drop a how many bottles you would want and if there is interest I will go through the official Group Buy channels.

Obvious disclaimer however is that should this become a group buy at any point that it is not an offical BRISKODA orgainsed buy and therefore BRISKODA, can NOT be held responsible for any wrong doing that may occur.

Right on that note, it's a dead one.

Can somebody close this thread off when they notice this :)

I get 5 litres Millers XFE-PD 5w 40 from my local motor factors for £25. :) Not sure if this stuff is just loads better (for different application?)

I would be interested in a GB of XFE-PD if it were to occur?

The XF long life is the VW 506.1 (0w-30) or VW507(5w-30) oil designed for long life servicing. It's the equivalent of the Shell Helix VX or Castrol Edge/SLX longlife II/III depending on which one you get.

IIRC the XFE PD is a VW 505.1 oil, but I know i checked and my car can't use the oil.

I'll ask the chap as if i am coming up to wsm I could probably get a box of 4 and get a reasonably good price on them.
