Right well this is a quick poll for all octy II drivers.

Pick one of each above when you have read this.

Do you have Bridgestone tyres on your car from the factory?

If so can you post the value for the fully loaded car inflation pressure from the inside of the fuel cap for the rear tyres, and the pressure limit printed on the sidewall.

I have noticed that the fuel cap says 310kPa, but the tyre says you MUST NOT go above 275kPa. So which is right, well I'm not over inflating the tyre and waiting for it to go bang, so i guess that.

I'm curious to see if it is just me

I'd take a guess it should be 210 (2.1bar) - misprint or dirty?

Definitely not a dirty thing, and if it is a misprint it is very dangerous.

The fronts are supposed to be at 2.2 when the car is only lightly loaded, with the rears higher (2.3) so when fully loaded it isn't going to be 2.1bar

Soz, I'm tired, only scanned the last bit, didn't read it was fully loaded pressure! 310 sounds high but my petrol cap says 280max so perhaps not? Edit - unsuitable tyres fitted?

Factory fitted tyres, even checked the spare.

205/55/R16's

Too right the fuel cap says fully laden 3.3 bar or some ridiculous high figure, the tyres say do not exceed 48 psi (old money). Totally contradictory! I guess the moral of this story is check what it says on the tyres!

You see I would work in PSI, but they are not give on the cap.

I'm quite concerned and am trying to work out if this is a common thing, as it is a serious safety issue and requires either a new sticker fitted or new tyres all round if it isn't just bad luck.

Sounds very naughty - try dropping a query to Skoda UK customer services?

I intend to give them a call, just wondered if it was just me?

Now that poll is interesting. Please do leave details in the thread if you can, as I will most likely be contacting skoda about this.

I have factory fitted bridgestones 205/55/16. The sticker says fully loaded 3.3 bar/330kpa and the tyre says max 350kpa, so it seems Ok.

Interesting thing I have just noticed is that my tyre has two max PSI values on it, one is big enough the other isn't.

All a bit weird, but am going to get a dealer to make sense of it when I get a chance.
