Which insurance company do you recommend?

Featured Replies

I think I probably have a good quote already but would like to check to make sure i'm not missing out. I also have been told my current insurer will charge an extra £100 for the remap.

Who does everyone use?

Chris Knott. Tell them you're with Briskoda and they'll give you a discount

Cheers, used to be insured with them on my scoob years ago.

try more than for a standard car they came in over 150.00 less than my current insurers and free basic breakdown they were about £70.00 less than the next nearest

More Than seem pretty good for a standard VRS, but I don't think they do performance mods.

Try confused.com - it checks about 30 different insurers and gives you a price for each. It identified More Than as being my cheapest (unmodified 4x4) by some margin.

I'm with Elephant, £280 fully comp on my Octy vRS protected ncb.

They do mods as well, as I had my old Prelude VTEC with 6 mods thru them.

I use Lifesure,no-one has come near the premium I get from them.

I put them in the links directory.

If you fill out an on line request they will phone you at the time you request, they cover all difficult cases too, can only say their service has been truly superb so far.

More Than, has to get my vote.

Im with Privlege insurance... Ive got 4years hard earned NCB but ive just turned 21. Wont allow any mods till 25 which is annoying but I love it standard at the mo so its not too much of a problem.

They under quoted my renewel price (from Tescos) by near £500 big ones!

For standard VRS direct line £282 for 31yr old.

Thanks for the replies, I went with Chris Knott in the end, very good service and quote with no hassle if I want to do the remap in the future.

Looked at More than for my old A6, and they lived up to thier name, perhaps should have been "Considerably More Than".

Elephant now for the Corrado.....cost me £18 for the lowered suspension, so not bad at all.

CIS for the van, and that was a good saving over my previous.

Yeah, More Than best quote for me.

More Than, they must be on a serious drive to get customers, they came in much cheaper than everyone else, only about 60 or 70 quid more than my old 1.9 TDi. It was even a reasonable excess they wanted.

You really need to look deeper than price alone. For example, what cover is being offered, what is the payout record like for the insurer, and what effect do any claims have on NCB.

I agree, thats what surprised me too. I have basic Europe cover, fully comp Europe cover costs more (which I think is unlimited, not too sure tbh), courtesy car in the event of an accident in mine, legal cover, can drive any vehicle, everything I had offered to me on my other policy.
