Wet footwells

Featured Replies

I`ve just noticed that the rear near side footwell is wet. Can anyone tell me where it`s coming form and how to solve it.

I remember a while back reading about this but i can`t find the thread.

Is this an expensive and time consuming job to do.

its not exspensive but a little time consuming i have sorted the leaks myself on both rear doors on my fabia you can order a new sealing cord from skoda i think it is £21 and you get loads there is a guide in the how to and guides section on how to fix it i used this and had no problems. as long as the carrier is screwed on and not rivveted on you should not have a problem.

Sorry but i can`t seem to find the thread in the guides section about doing this.

I removed it as the repair procedure is now out of date and has been replaced by something else. I dont like keeping old remedies up as it could confuse issues if dealers are carrying out the latest and correct procedures.

I rang Skoda uk today about the wet footwell problem and they said there`s nothing they can do to help, which i`m not happy about.

But i rang my Skoda garage about it and he said he`ll do it for under

I rang Skoda UK as i thought it would better going to the top, as i thought if i asked the dealer the dealer would only ring headoffice for advice.

The footwell which is wet is the rear nearside.

Hooray, all fixed now. Got the seal done and a new electric window switch for

Had mine done on Wednesday. Not sure if it's fixed it as the rubber seal on the N/S rear is still wet on top. Might just be the door card drying out yet but I'm not sure.

I just used silicone on mine done the job okay and total cost about £5.

had mine done Wednesday, under warranty thankfully!

looking at the rear sills on my 04 Fabia - the seals are about 1/2 inch above the level of the sills ---so although there is some water on the silltops under the door - the slope of the silltops would appear to make it run outward and it would appear to need a lot of water to rise over the seals --unless there is a bypass path for the water - still must try to get car to dealer ,and wait for the uproar - lease company let car get to 15k before selling, with no service - main dealer and Skoda told me it was out of warranty and no dearler could get me a service in a reasonable time , so i took to an independant to address the problem of overdue oil change. (Insurance warranty company on other items said this was ok)

Waiting to see if Skoda come the service game on a non service dependant warranty.

Well, I 'supposedly' had mine fixed last week but the N/S rear is still doing it....opened it this morning and water poured out from the door card with the top of the seal drenched.

So it's going back in AGAIN to have that re-done and my reversed air recirculation problem sorted. Getting a bit sick of seeing the dealer now.

Hopefully it wont mist up as much when it's all done. Dry rear doors and air that blows the right way will help. :)
