speed sensor/crankshaft sensor ????

Featured Replies

got a problem with my vrs, vagcom is saying it's error code 16706 (g28 speed sensor) has anyone a clue where it is?

trouble i'm having is my car was having trouble starting, maybe 3 turns of the key to get started (epc light on). now it won't start at all after having the vagcom on. the yellow engine light is also now as well but the fault codes have all been cleared.

any help would be appreiceated.

Google got me -

Unplug the 3 pin connector for the engine speed sensor and

- Measure sensor resistance between terminals 2 + 3 of harness connector to sensor. Specified value: 480-1000

- Check sensor for short between terminals 1 + 2 as well as -1- + -3-.

I don't have time to check any more at the moment.

cheers mark.

Front of the block behind the oil filter, the lead (grey one) comes up under the inlet manifold.
