Rear Engine

Featured Replies

Hi

Just registered here, hello to all !!

I am a Norwegian that had an 100L as my first car back in 1982, and after that I had 5 other rear engined Skodas in aprox 10 years, and a lot of fun. Especially on snowcovered Norwegian winter roads......

These days I am thinking about buying another one, but this time the top model of the Rear engined range, the 130 RS. A Group B Rally Car that was competing in for instance the RAC rally, and winning its class almost every time, with John Haugland behind the wheel (Norwegian as well !)

Are there anyone here with a 130 RS ?

Not sure about if there are anyone in the UK or anywhere else that share the interest for the old and "real Skodas" before VAG came in to the picture ?

I dont have one..but I always loved the old rally cars..

Somehwere about I have some good photos of them in action on the RAC rally in about 1984..Most were taken at Harewood House nr Harrogate...

Wouldnt mind one as toy either:cool:

Nice tastes mate. Slightly confused by your post though. Surely the 130RS was a group 2/4 car (depending on tune), and the Estelle was normally rallied as a Group A car?

I do remember John H. taking his class in the real RAC rally (before the present "Rally of South Wales" as we call it up here) for something like 19 years in a row. Match that Ford Escort!
