I finally did it.....

Featured Replies

After much deliberation (especially concerning how comfy the seats are), I've gone and ordered my vRS.

I ended up going for a race blue TDi estate with the following options:

Dual zone, jumbo box, leccy rear windows

Xenon headlights

Rain sensitive wipers, light assistant, auto dimming mirror

Rear parking sensors

Curtain airbags

Active headrests

Variable boot floor

Sunset glass

Maxi-dot

Cruise control

Heated front seats

I didn't bother with the alloys, as they would add a significant extra wedge to the P11D value of the car, and I'm stretching my budget already as it is.

Looking at delivery sometime in May, hopefully. I can't wait!

Congratulations, sounds ace :thumbup::cool:

Start the countdown :D

My congratulations too.

Sounds lovely and with an outstanding spec......bet you can't wait!!!

Hey well done!! ENJOY.

Don't forget that ALL your extras add to the P11D price. :(

I know that they all add to the P11D, but I figured that paying more money to replace something the car comes with didn't make sense.

My calculations of cost are based around what my existing company car costs tax wise. At the moment, I'm paying

That is a pretty impressive spec car.

Sounds like a nice car,

first of many Vrs with heated seats, I suspect to be ordered.

Yes i have to agree an excellent spec to chose. I bought an Octavia TDi vRS only 3 weeks ago and i absolutely love it. Decided to buy an ex demonstrator with a good spec. I drove it from Carlisle to Doncaster last week. It was extremely comfortable and managed 49mpg at motorway speeds. Really glad I bought one. You'll love it, enjoy.

Had a bit of luck today, as my dealer has managed to find a car in the Skoda network with all my options barring heated seats and variable boot floor. It does have the 18" alloys, but the cost works out about the same given that the heated seats and boot floor would have come to

I know, it's a bit sad, really. At least everyone else can get heated seats if they want them.

We've had a change in our company car policy, which takes effect from 1st April. If I don't get the car now, I won't be able to afford it come May...... :(

I'd rather compromise than not have the car at all.

Totally fed up and p**sed off this morning.

I just don't understand the mentality of some Skoda dealers.

They've got the car that I want sitting in their compound gathering dust, and it has been since last October. They initially agreed to dealer transfer it to my company's preferred supplier, no problem.

Four weeks later, and I'm still waiting.

We've gone through umpteen different stories, we've got another dealer interested, we've got another customer interested, the person who knows how to do the transfer is on holiday, all the salesmen are in a meeting. You name, they've bullshi**ed it.

We got the Skoda regional manager involved, and he told them that if they hadn't sold it by the 17th March, they had to transfer it. So, what did they do, simply mark it as sold in the Skoda system.

Subsequent enquiries have revealed that the car is still available!!

I've now had to place a factory order, it's cost me more money and a four week delay!

It's not like this dealer is having an easy time shifting the vRS, as they've got another blue vRS estate in stock (on the forecourt) and two saloons. All of them have been there since December.

Oh well. The moral of the story is to avoid the Skoda dealer if you happen to be in Yeovil.

Bagpuss.

Any reason you're not going to the place where it is gathering dust and buying it from them instead?

Can imagine (by now) you wouldn't want to, but it could have been an option?

Hope the factory order goes better at any rate

Hey Bagpuss,

Sorry to hear of your problems but look on the bright side; you will get the car YOU want with the options YOU want, AND you know it will be 'factory fresh' from the dealer that YOUR Company prefers to use.

The dealer in Yeovil - surely it will be their loss!

If it is any consolation the problem you have had and the run-around you have been given is not a Skoda exclusive problem; it happens all over the Motor Trade. No wonder they get a bad name!

@WW_VRS - The dealer in Yeovil is where the car is gathering dust, so I'd be very reluctant to use them in any case, after the way they've messed everyone around.

The reason I didn't go direct to them, is because my leasing company will only use one preferred supplier. I tried to get them to deal direct with the other dealer, but no joy.

Still, as bahnstormer vrs says, at least I'm going to get a factory fresh car, with exactly the options I want on it.
