Waste of time.

Featured Replies

I have just spent the last couple of hours removing the fabia & vRS sticky wotsits from the back of my car, because I prefer the clean look.

Only to find, after washing & removing all sticky residue it's badly scratched where the letters & logo was:(

I know it wasn't me, because I was very very careful & used only my fingers & a hair dryer ( I now have very sore fingers ).

So do I either go the whole hog & have the roundel removed & the top of the bottom of the tailgate painted, or do I just put the letters back on?

I'm undecided, as the painting will cost approx

Is it too bad to T-Cut out?

Yes mate.

There is quite a large chip in the paint, and one or two linear scratches, as though a stanley knife has been at them before.

I can only presume at one time the badges have been pilfered, and replaced.

The previous owner may have replaced them, he is a member on here, and far too honest for his own good, and I'm sure he would have mentioned it ( that is if he had realised that I am silly enough to mess about with removable sticky things.):o

This makes me want to remove my vRS badges before someone has a go at mine.

Have you got Black Magic paint then? It's a real bugger to match up. I got some touch up paint off ebay when I caught the driver's mirror and to be honest, after a couple of coats and then the laquer, it looks pretty good. Could this be an option if you have a steady hand?

I'd get it painted as stickers will still leave the cars metal exposed to damp etc.

Steady hand!

You're having a laugh.

The amount I drink, I have hardly got a steady body:rofl:

Actually it's silver, so I could probably attack it with a blunt toothpick and some touch up paint.

I'm just a tad disappointed that's all, I could have saved myself 2 hours and gone to the pub instead:)

Silver paint is even ****tier to match up then the black going by the the touch up job done on the chips on our old L&K, and that was by the garage:O

I have a new set of letters and //vRS badge (courtesy of John Yardley) - you're welcome to these if you want to re-instate them. Or combine the two and call it a FFAIBAAIB (- Welsh for something, I think)

Ooooh.

If I have yours, and combine them with my two sets, I will be able to fill the boot lid with something in Swahili:D

just put the letters into an anagram checker thingie:

How about abba, baba, baff, biff - sounds mildly suggestive.....

I've a good one, Just use 5 letters and spell out "FABIA"...........Novel..:D

AIBIF prehaps?

You left a letter out

BAIFIA

I had scratches after removing the Octavia letters. Some Meguar's Scratch X and Carnuba wax soon sorted it out.
