New flip key fob

Featured Replies

When I bought my Octavia there was only one flip fob and no other keys.

The sales manager agreed to get another fob,he ordered this from Westover Skoda

and it came in at @

Can be done with VAG-COM but you'll still need the 4 digit SKC - which they may charge for.

Do Skoda dealers still give out the 4 or 7 digit SKC?

Had a problem getting SKC for my Polo as VW dealers don't seem to be able to give them out any more. Think they use the GEKO system that hides it from dealers.

Skoda arent on Geko and still use the four pin SKC.

They have to email Skoda to get it but should ask for proof and identity before giving a security code out.

Radio code is done in much the same way but they need a serial code from the side of the stereo.

Thanks Lummox, will Skoda be moving to Geko soon?

As if they are, it would be a good idea for anyone who hasn't got their SKC to get it now as they won't be able to get it when they introduce Geko.

I wish I got the SKC for my Polo a couple of years ago!

What do stealers usually charge for emailing Skoda to get the SKC?

No idea on Geko, its taken them this long to get started on Elsa.

Skoda were still issuing the SKC with the car last time I did a new one.

The charge isn't abnormal, however I found Loaders in yeovil or meadens in sway give a more friendly approach to their customers.

hi.... can't help much here... but I am live in Weymouth, and I don't rate Westover too highly!

Hmm,they certainly don't have that welcome anymore.

I used to have a Felicia, the ignition switch fell to bits, people were quoting monster amounts, telling me the dash had to be removed etc.

4 bolts and 2 grub screws and it was off.Westover at that time were brilliant, they did not have a switch on the shelf but got one on next day delivery and because I had been "inconvenienced" it was delivered direct to my home.

They were very helpful and friendly then but I notice big staff changes all round and a noticably frosty atmosphere.

Well I have to get the key sorted so will give them another try and see what the experience is like.

Thats cool, I'll be heading to Loders soon for the code :) Is this not given put on the keys? I recall them saying something about if you lose the bit of plastic we have to write to Skoda and they may charge, wondering if that is the SKC.

Yep, thats the one. There are usually an number of codes on the "bit of plastic" that come with the keys, SKC is usually the 4 digit number under the scratch pannel.

Problem with SKC code is that people have a tendancy to lose it, especially if your car is not bought new.

Well, all that has been said about Westover Skoda appears to sadly accurate.

They don't seem to want any form of business.Tried phoning all day to book this job, alternates between no answer, accounts answer....phone back they are busy....this I get 6!!!! times.

I am going past later so I call in,nobody on service desk, mechanics standing in showroom hands in pockets, manager and salesman leaning against wall chatting and I am totally ignored.

Eventually get a woman who asks what I want,no can't do that now ......why don't you ring and book for next week?............:dunce:

It gets better yet.Chap along the road has his own business and buys new cars for himself, wife and 2 teenagers every couple of years.

He rather likes the look of the Octavia Estate and asks me about Skoda in general.

They all went into Westover,he has fallen for a VRS Estate and is ready to buy 4 cars there and then....................they are totally ignored, nada !!

As he said if that is the state of the dealer what hope do I have of getting any service? He is now looking at other brands that don't come from Westover Group who seem to have cornered too big a range of brands in this area.

I am now going to Meadens .............a long drive for me........but at least they are pleased to have the business.

I'm surprised - I had a very good experiance with Westover at Corfe Mullen recently.

If you get the SKC and are ever along the M27 I'll code it for you.

You must have been plain lucky Stu, I honestly can't think of anyone apart from you who has recently had a good experience of westover skoda :(

It's a shame as a relative has a toyota, and westover toyota are in fact extremely good.

That is typical behaviour for Westover Skoda I am afriad.

Well be thankful they did not offer to call you back - because that never happens.

Yes and that reminds me,I needed new wipers all round, they had none........we'll phone you when they are in,they take the details and ..........nothing,well too late Westover got them elsewhere.

As to the key saga ,went out to Meadens in Sway and what a difference in attitude!

This is what you should find in a dealer,I will definitely use them again, nothing is too much trouble and as I waited I was able to see them dealing with other customers and it is clear that they are very committed to customer care.
