Rear brakes sticking on VRS

Featured Replies

Wonder if anyone can help with any ideas.

My 56 Reg VRS Fabia has been in the Garage AGAIN today

I've got an 06 vrs which had the same problem from new.

Took it back to dealer who fitted some counter-balance weights on the rear brakes. No improvement initially but then about 1 month after they stopped sqealing and haven't since.

Not sure if this helps or not...

i wouldn't worry about the noise , i know its annoying etc , but the brakes work ok i'm sure , we get it a lot at work , and sometimes whatever you do nothing short of changing the pads and discs works to cure the squeak

all it will be is the pad just catching on the disc edge , this will be especially noticable when going slow as you don't have road noise etc to drown the squeak out

just give the brakes a good heavy braking session on a clear road, this may cure it to a degree

Thanks for your advice. The car is going back in next week to the original dealer i bought it from and they mentioned about counter balance.

Also the breaks work very well but must remember I need to due some heavy braking to see if that helps but I only seem to remember when the wife and kids are in the car.
