No Service Reminder???

Featured Replies

Well i've topped the 10,000 mile mark by over 100 miles now and i've still not had a service reminder on the dash...... I've had the car from new and collected it with 4 miles on the clock. The car has only been back to the dealer once and that was within a month of collecting it. It had the xenons adjusted and the gearknob replaced..... nothing service related.

Has anybody else had this kinda problem??? The car is already booked in for it's first service next week so is it something i should mention when dropping it off?

Cheers

Dave.

Mention it to be on the safe side. But, I bet the reminder pops up in the interim i.e. it was perhaps set at 200/ 300 miles, whatever

If you had the Xenons done it needs to be plugged in to do it. I suppose it's possible that during this process they reset it.

I know I have never seen the little spanner in 41k because I am always doing something to it ;)

I never thought of that....... That could possibly be the cause....... It's a differant dealer that is doing the service so i'll mention it to them when i drop it off.

Car is on longlife servicing... where your first service is at up to 18,000/2 years?

Cant be that, we have had this discussion before. The Fabia vRS doesnt have the required sensors fitted to the engine.

Does it not? Thats ridiculous!

No Fabia is run on QG1 in the UK, none of them have the required components to do so.

Supprising that, so whats needed... couple of oil sensors? Amazed as most of VAG tend to have the option of Longlife/T+D/Fixed servicing that they didnt bother on the furby. Guess it was to make the polo look a better by for diesels? Ah well guess in this case the service light has been re-set at some stage then.

SEAT dont use variable at all on thier cars, fixed only. Makes life alot easier.

You need

Oil level/oil quality sensor

Brake pad sensors

The right software in the dash

Just ignore the service thing and get it serviced!!!

The first time i saw my service light was at about 35k

it popped up again recently at 75k

Mine flashed on at about 10,250 miles...i wouldn't worry about it tbh.
