This is a fantastic track, for anyone dithering believe me its a great circuit, a fantastic place for a novice to learn as well as several bends that are easy to go round fairly quickly but a challenge for the experts to achieve that extra bit of speed.

If I had not already been booked to go abroad I would have been there & yes Im jealous.

Cheers Stu, that's just what my mate will want to hear :)

Anyone else tried booking on the motorsport-event hotline number? I always get the answerphone. I've left a message but they haven't returned my call. I also tried the mobile number they give but it doesn't ring

As I'm not sure if a) the car will be ready before the 1st and B) if I've got time enough to run the gearbox in, I've contacted Motorsport Events and have my booking put 'in reserve'. This means that I won't get a refund, but can book at an alternative event this year...

Sorry :(

Still makes me chuckle that, an owner of a 200SX coming up to me after he had to yield :D Is it really a 1.4 mate?

No gears, Just lots of rope, nylon or even wire hawser for the harder recoveries!

Fingers crossed Q, hope you can make it  . Jim is coming along from JKM with a friend in a Skyline and he's bringing something else but I'm not sure what yet.

Good to hear Q  Keep the clogs in the cupboard :D

Question?

My Octy is booked for its remapping at Jabba on the 31st May and my intention was to then book on the track day, I'm sure that will be straight forward. However, the engine (following on from a rebuild) has an oil leak, it's been looked at once, but the leak appears to still be there. Being some distance from the garage that put the car back together for me is an issue in finding the time to fit in the repair between now and the end of the month.

At the present rate, I have to top the oil up every few hundred mile. So is it down right stupid of me to go on a track day before this is properly sorted??? Opinions please.

Obviously last thing I want is to make the leak worse and find I lose all my oil while caning it around a circuit and wreck the engine again, I don't have an oil pressure gauge though this is on the list of extras still to do. Then of course there is the question of dripping oil on the track for someone else to go spinning off on!!! Personally I think the above adds up to a no go until I can get the leak properly sorted - regretably.

Lee, the Corrado is sorted no!, why not have a blast in that?.

If it's known to be leaking I would suggest not taking Octy on....backwards in a tuscan at 120 due to mud in braking zone was bad enough...but to the invisible enemy would be pant filling and bloody confusing...

Corrado would be cool to see out :)

I had toyed with the Corrado idea but I fear I might fail to stop in time for the corners, however it won't get up to a sufficient speed for that to be a problem!!! I'll give it some thought.....

I'll give you a mobile braking pad in the shape of an mx5 :)

Spoke to Motorsport-Events and they are more than happy for spectators just as long as they know the numbers.

See you there.
