I've been thinking about getting leather seats for my VRS and have read a few threads about Seat Surgeons in York, as I don't live that far from there, but I was thinking of just going for half leather instead of full, replacing the light grey material (as that marks so easily!). Has anybody else had this done? How much and any pictures?

Not sure if you can do half and half IIRC.

Dammit!!! I was thinking of half leather/half alcantara and have been impressed with the pics of the seat surgeons re-trims. Anyone know if they'd do it if you supplied the material???

Go for the full jobby, it's cold on your ar5e first thing, but it smells nice, and is easy to keep clean ( just like the wife.)

A sort of man made easy to keep clean type of soft leathery suede type stuff.

I believe that L4leather (in Sheffield?) can do this. You should be able to find them on t'interweb.

But personally, I think you have to go a long way to beat Seat Surgeons for good value and an excellent job - you can see our interior on the the new members section - message titled 'Hi from furelise' - or in the Fabia section section 'Leather seats for ....' thread.

The seat surgeons seem good but they don't make their own covers, they simply order them in and then fit them. I'm not saying this is a bad thing but it means they are unable to replace parts of the seat covers, I asked them to replace the silver mesh in my Octavia with leather to match the rest of the seats and they said it's not something they would do because it would be too time consuming.

So if we could find the supplier of the covers and take them to a local coachtrimmer, there would be no need to drive to Yorkshire...?

If all they're doing is fitting (I use the word "all" loosely!), then why's there such a price difference between Surrey and Yorkshire Seat Surgeons? Labour rates can't be that much different, if so, I fancy a drive to India!!
