The 2.0T won't , and nor would the PD170 as that would make it a faster car than the Octy.

No reason why the 1.4 TFSI or PD140 couldn't be in there.

The Fabia VRS has helped skoda along the road to making themselves a "hot hatch" maker because it is different.

If they stick a petrol engine in the VRS they will loose a lot of buyers to the Fiesta ST and Corsa VXR. They will keep the Fabia VRS as a diesel to retain the tight gits that buy them

im pretty sure they will use the 1.4 and a tdi lump to suit more people

How are people tight for buying diesels when diesel models usually cost more then petrols.

Now peeps are saying the PD170 wont go in as it would be faster then at Octy, but they put the PD130 in alot of cars previous, i.e Passat, A4, and Octy (not VRS) origionally and there were no issues with that. I mean the passat did not come with a sporty alterative anyway, but even if all this was irrelevant and they wouldn't put the PD170 in, why not put the PD160 in out of the Ibiza Cupra? PD140 is hardly a gain for a top model Skoda. As i said though, only my opinion.

I totally agree, they stand to loose alot of customers if they put the PD140 in as you say, that is not a huge power increase for the sporty model and it won't feel much better than now.

i would expect to see the 140pd 2.0tdi but a mabey about anouther 75-100kg in weight so not much faster it looks to tall for my liking anyway (a bit like a roomster:thumbdwn: )

You almost never get to use the full extent of the power you've already got, so having more isn't going to help. What you need to be able to do is put more power down on the road and that's suspension and transmission, not engine.
