Milltek MSVW148 or MSVW257?

Featured Replies

I've scoured the internet but can't find out the CEL (?) ratings of either of these parts.

They are the Milltek downpipe and sports cat and the part numbers are MSVW148 and MSVW257? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Ahh... one is 2.5" and the other is 3".

MSVW148 is the 2.5" system and MSVW257 is the 3" system and both are 100CEL if im not mistaken

*Edit*Dang you beat me to it

Cheers.

I've heard that Milltek have stopped producing the MSVW148 (2.5") as it dosn't appear in their 2007 catalogue..

..so does that mean that the 3" cat can be used with the 2.5" sections (MSVW167, MSVW168 and the MSSK02)?? I thought there would be issues with the sizing.

Not that i know of, i was always going to get the 3" as it was cheaper which is weird

I was under the impression that the 3" was for uprated turbos only, due to back pressure.

Naa thats total tosh as far as im concerned.

There are plenty of yanks running 3" downpipes on their golfs with no problems what so ever. The only real difference ive found is that you do loose a little low end torque and get a little extra on the top end from reading forums
