The squeak returns!!

Featured Replies

So there I am thinking that the sqeaky brakes had 'worn off' and then in the last couple of weeks they have returned with a real vengeance!!

From 20mph to 0 I can now scare people with the squeal!:D

.....Still think its the mooing brake thing:(

Front or rear?

Not sure to be honest:O

It began just after I had the mod on the rear mooing brake problem (probably just coincidence).

Took into dealer to be checked and they said it wasn't linked and that it would wear after time (that was at the end of last summer)

Emailed SUK who looked into it and replied saying the dealer was right!

I'm having this problem too... Also after having the mooing fix done. The squeal is definitely coming from the rear brakes. Its already been back to the dealer about it, but at the time it was a lot worse than it is now.

I did wash the car the other day, and it stopped for the day, but its now back in full force again. :(

My dealer recomended that I didn't go ahead with the modification to provent mooing because it often causes squealing when going forwards...

Yeah, mine didn't tell me that... :( Unfortunately I first read about the squeaking problem being a common thing after I had the mooing fix done. Bummer.

My cow only rears its head now and again and I dont reverse all the time so Ill stick with daisy!

Daisy

Which is why I think the balance weight mod is only approved for the Fabia, I dont think its supposed to be for the Octavia.

Is the mod easily undone? ie without taking it to the dealer?
