What are they and why do I need them?

Also, does the Fabia have proper Air Con or is it Climate Control like the Ibiza?

Anti Slip regulation, ie Traction control. Don't know what MSR is.

The Fabia has semi automatic a/c. So you set a temperature and the car will maintain it.

So why would I want ESP if I have ASR?

ASR stops the wheels spinning, ESP stops the wheels spinning AND helps to keep control of the vehicle if you need to make a sudden avoidance maneuver on a motorway for example.

"MSR, standard on the Fabia vRS, stands for engine torque control. It is a function that is shared between the brake system and the engine management systems. Is task is to prevent the driving wheels from locking up during engine braking. This could occur when the foot is quickly removed from the accelerator or when suddenly changing down gears. MSR prevents loss of steering control, due to slippage of the driving wheels, by increasing engine rpm, thus ensuring that the driving wheels do not spin and steering control is maintained. ESP acts on all 4 wheels, monitors slip angles, yaw angles (I think) and then applies braking, reduces braking, where it deems necessary

ESP worth every penny IMHO.
