F1 commences again

I take back what I said about Renault losing out at the start. WTF has Alonso got on his car? I think one of the biggest advantages Ferrari had was the low temperature, which suited the Bridgestones. It won't be quite the same at Sepang.

Twas a good result for Jenson - he held on well throughout the race, despite having some severe graining on his tyres.

The jury's still out for me on this year's new regs.

Come on, guys. It's a sport, not a show!

Sport has a right to be boring. I thoroughly enjoyed Ferrari's rout, if only because it showed Max and Bernie that all the silly rule changes that blatantly attempted to make it into a television show can't beat the best efforts of the best sportsmen using the best equipment thoroughly beating the competition.

Really, I don't see any silly rule changes in football because there are too many boring 0-0 draws...

what happened to Montoya at the start, I missed it. If he hadn't fouled up, could have given Barrichello and Shumi a bit of a tussle.....

and what's all this about him leaving at end of the season? Any other team interested in piking him up? It's be a real shame to see the most intersting and passionate driver on the circuit leave........ :(

Totally agree Mattijs - I was really irate to read in the paper this morning that Ecclestone is already contemplating making changes to ensure that Ferrari don't walk away with it this year. WTF is that all about - everyone knows the rules at the start of the season and if everyone else other than Ferrari has messed up their work in development then tough :finger: We all like close racing but F1 has always been the pinnacle and fiddling with rules all over the place doesn't seem to be helping too much anyway! Anyway, we will only really get a true reflection of where everyone is after a couple more races on differing types of tracks wiwth different temperatures etc.

dont think we should panic yet... add the 12 deg of temp back to the air.. and the race could have been very different.. williams 1 sec a lap quicker.. ferrari half a sec slower... and would have been a big scrap... jenson would have been on michi's as well and could have really mixed it up.

:D

all for a cold front appearing over the circuit... sepang will be a lot diff..

I got up at 2:50am to watch the GP, then went back to sleep after 45 minutes because the race was dull. I don't mind the Ferraris thrashing everyone else, but the race was dull throughout the field.

Personally I didn't like the new qualifying either - far too long. They should have stuck to the old format.

Kind of drifted into resting the eyes mode after laps3 or 4 when the boys in red were already pulling away...SWMBO woke me at 54...wandered of again with one lap to go...

Now was it me or have ITV gone out of there way to use CH4's WRC team..you know I thought 20 cars were in that race, but I could of sworn I only heard 5 or 6 names mentioned...

Dunno about the WRC team, but the 'Speed Sunday' on next week looks good, F1, WRC + F3000. Must be some excitement in that lot somewhere ;)
