18s for Octy Estate

Featured Replies

Hi all, have just purchased a 53 plate Vrs Estate in red, will get some pictures up 2moro.

It has been remapped to 216bhp, k&n panel filter and tints, i would like a set of 18s to finish it off properly, any recomendations on which style suit the estate the most?

Had thought about lowering it a little and fitting 17s but maybe 18s and leave it at the height it is now as it is ok over speed humps atm.

Love the beast already btw :)

welcome welshloon

I have had my vrs estate for about 2 years now and still love it!

about the speed humps every so often one will catch you out

enjoy the car

hey loon where you based

Cardiff?

Nice motor.

The 18"'s RS4's would look nice. They Suite the Hatch really well.

Welcome to Briskoda

Try RS8s on the car? See this pic..

Just been to order the RS6 Replicas, very nice indeed, a local garage can do them quite cheap with locking nuts badges etc, he said they were 5x100 offset 38, is this right as i thought offset was supposed to be 35.

Will 38 fill the arch more or less than 35?

Thanks.

lower the offset the more fill you get. So a 35 will fill the arch more than a 38. But uve got to consider the wheel might be wider too which alters things again.

This is what i got told by 100s of wheel people i phoned.

My 18's are a offset of 45 but are 7.5"wide compared to the standard 6.5"wide and they shouldnt catch(this is on my fabia vrs though)

I wouldnt lower the octy and id go for 18s there just right.

I ran 7.5's on an ET32 and it was fine. Im thinking an ET45 might well run on the inside or the arch or the damper.

Tryed one on and doesnt catch anywhere a good figers gap between the wheel and damper. same as my 17's

Plus someone on here runs the same offset and wheel brand and no probs.

I was surpriced for them not to catch but if he has had no problems etc.

They will be on nxt week when i get my replacement wheel due to some toss pot not checking it.

Lummox if they did catch Would i be able to just bang some spacers on say 5mm that would push the wheel to the outer side of the arch meaning it would be like running a 40 offset. Correct? since your the man with techy things?

I see in another post thead the 16" that are on the estate are et42 so the RS6 will fill the arch more, thats great thanks folks, will post some pictures monday when they are fitted, already a few surprised faces after they have been annhialated by a skoda estate, gotta love it:)

Will probably put the pillar protectors on and Vrs badges on front doors like yours m8, then a badgeless grille and maybe blueflame/ milltec exhaust and it will be complete :)

Good choice mate, exactly the same as mine ;)

Looks very nice. Has anyone tried the Leon Cupra R 18's on the Octavia? I do like the chunkiness of the Audi replicas.

Don't mean to hijack the thread but I currently have a modified Ibiza Cupra 1.8T...

However, with a new baby and a dog, it has to go! Looking for a worthy and suitable replacement is tough! I was looking at the Alfa 156 sportwagon but there's no more space than in a hatch. I'm guessing a remapped Octavia vRS will be comparable to my remapped Ibiza. I know it's heavier but will probably have an extra 20bhp.

Don't shoot me but I find the Octavia, even in vRS form, a little...erm...boring! I know I will want to modify whatever I get to make it look more individual so if anyone can point me in the direction of examples of subtly 'enhanced' estates that would be great. Many thanks, Todd.

That looks ace!

Here here, I second that!!!!

Very nice mate!!

How much and where from (for the wheels...) if you don't mind me asking? PM me if you'd rather not broadcast it.:)

Looks good, mine is on OEM 16's, can I just buy the 18's and 225/40's and then get some geezer to fit without too much trouble?

Not normally one for mods, but I like that!

I have the OE std facelift Mk1 Elegance Alloys "Ride". Apparently.

Would the pop out centre caps work with the RS6 alloys to give a more OE look to them? This isn't for me but can't help but think it would finish off what Welsh Loon has done.

Are the centre caps available as parts on their own anyway? Mine could probably do with being replaced immediately before sale when I decide to get rid of the car, if not too expensive.

The centre badges from my original wheels did not fit the RS6, will get some off ebay.
