I cant see just a pipe having much of an effect, Id concentrate my efforts towards the exhaust and CAT. The Milltek system on ebay looks good.

Have you seen either the Samco or ABD Racing TIP in real life?

Obviously not, as if you had, you would have seen there is a big difference on the bend where it joins the turbo. The OEM one goes very flat on the bend, where as the others maintain the circular shape all the way around the bend onto the turbo.

Fit one and you will find the turbo spools up so much faster than standard. I have the ABD Racing one on my Octy vRS.

Have a look on the ABD Racing website, ABD Racing | Welcome, click on VW then on the 1.8 performance section, and you can see one, and lots of other goodies for the 1.8T engine.

Also bits for the 2.0T.

I, and many others on here have the turbo back Blueflame exhaust with the 100 cet sports cat, and they are brilliant.

Not everything is about gains as well.

like Gerry said it will help with flow and spool up time which means your improving what you already have meaning if/when you get a zaust you will get the full benefit of it

Mmm

Must agree

They are rather good , if you go for the Forge one or the Samco one , they are not THAT expensive and will give better spool up

We have an OEM one on display to show the problems with them and the thin bend that restrics the air flow

Bit tricky to fit , but can be done

Sarah

T.I.P. was one of the 1st things i did and it does make a difference in how the turbo spools up.I fitted mine alond with green cotton air filter.

You will hear alot more air being sucked through the turbo and it helped mine cure a flat spot around 2k rpm.

I have also fitted a milltek exhaust full turbo back, but like Gerry said go the whole hog and fit a full turbo back as you won't see again gains.

I got my exhaust s/h and cheap, that's why i went for the milltek.

If your going to change your exhaust, then do the turbo back with the 100 cet sports cat to see any real gains, and not just cat back, as the real gain is lack of restriction in the sports cat.

I know, itd be nice to get a downpipe and CAT mated up to it as it smacks of quality and Im betting give a nice note, not brash at all.

Are you getting the engine remapped? Looks like its more than ready.

Going to get it remapped, stage 2 apr maybe?

It would have been remapped by now if i hadn't brought the exhaust(and a new dslr at christmas),milltek was too good to miss!

Will get the boost hoses i have got fitted as well as new tyres when i get some free time, soon i hope.

Well you should be in for a right treat as a standard remap has transformed mine. Might be worth swiss cheesing the arch liner too if you havent already and are running the stock IC, or does that include a new FMIC?

No FMIC,that will have to wait.Mods in signature have been done over the last year(very slow i know).

I did get apr 6 hour trail, and was impressed, lovely to have a lot more torque.

Got to get some new brake pads front and back, fit the boost hoses and maybe a little more on the suspension side, have a neuspeed front strut brace waiting to be fitted.Nearly forgot the set of goodyear f1 tyres.

I plan on drilling a few holes in the arch liner when i get time to do the boost hoses, which includes throttle body hose.

i must say that getting the t.i.p fitted was the first thing that i did, and it was noticable straight away, and thats on a standard car!! i even noticed that it seems to whistle a bit more as well!!!

As for the blue flame exhaust. well lets just say that i followed i well known octy out of a car park very recently on full chat, and the sheer noise of the thing. well lets just say that i crawled out of the car park pretending that i was not with him so that the crowd that had spun round like a bunch praire dogs as he left, was not disappointed with mine!! :o

it had the low down growl of the air filter, a huge whistle as the turbo spun up in a second and then the rumble of the blue flame exhaust. :D

it was awesome to say the least!!!

Sounds Impossible to me! Definately not me driving. Not allowed....

Whats the consensus on the blueflame systems, are they as well made as something like a Milltek? How loud are they?

Blueflame are Vrrrooooomm VRRrrroooooom.... whereas Milltek are Vrrooom VRoomm.

HTH :D

Milltek it is then! Had enough of loud exhausts - had a Powerflow system on my previous car, just ended up embarassing!

Milltek for me as well,

Check fleabay as the main distributor as is selling that at a great price and its only £15 postage.

Dont know if they can offer the down pipe at a good price though?

Off topic i know but i have a resonated Milltek middle box for sale PM me for more info;

I have a Neuspeed TIP, first mod on mine which then led to the slippery slope...:D

Phil

How do you find the Neuspeed TIP?

From looking at the way the Neuspeed is set up, and pictures of it, offered up to the OEM one. It looks 'brilliant.'

How do you find the Neuspeed TIP?

I looked on the internet....

No seriously its brill, better finished than the ABD one that i fitted to Q`s old vrs.... Most of the metal ones are the same to be honest and im happy with it, a few on here have the Samco rubber ones just as good
