Felicia '96 misfiring?

Featured Replies

I am the proud owner of a wee Felicia however having returned home from holiday the missus has told me that the car is jumping forward like a kangaroo. It only appears to be doing this at lower revs although ive not been able to get it any faster to check, it is also sporadick and will go for a couple of miles without any issues. Is it possible to change the plugs without too much difficulty, i was told that the were siezed for life. Where are they situated, i have not been able to locate them, is it a case of removing the fuel rack?

Could it be an issue with the fuel line, filter?

any help is much appreciated?

on the front of the block, under the coil pack. spark plugs should be there. if there not, then you have a 1.6, and you cant miss the plugs on a 1.6, there just above the inlet manifold.

is it 1.3 or1.6?

there are two different versions of the 1.3 engine, one has as allready mentioned has a coilpack on the front of the engine, the other has a conventional distributor cab and ht leads etc

As previously mentioned, the plugs are at the front of the engine on the 1.3 - it will either have HT leads (ie the spark plugs are under each of the leads) or undernearth a "coil pack", which is removed by unplugging the lead at the end, and removing the pack off the four plugs. (Think you might need an allan key - its a while since I have had a 1.3)

The 1.6 the plugs are at the back end of the engine - the leads run from the distributor, under the plastic cover - and to each of the plugs at the back. Undo the three screws hiding the back of the engine, pull off the leads, and you are sorted.

Hope that helps
