ok. all the bits are hear, the de-catted cat and all the clamps i need. what i need to know is,,,,,,

1) do i need to do anything special with the sencer in the exhaust??? will it be ok in its current position? or should it be spaced out or sumit?????

2) whats the best way to let the ecu know that i'v been handy with the spanners again???

i gather that the ecu will eventualy ajust to the new setup. but is there any way of prompting it to re-think its settings. ie; should i dis-connect the bat?????

The engine wont know any difference and will run as normal.

ok. all is done. and the news is,,,,,,,,,,, it works a treat.

the exhaust note is abit funny cuz its a hollowed out cat not a de-cat style pipe. but it has a nice burrble at idle, and i gauge 10% more power. been doing some set runs, leaving the village at 30mph, and seeing what speed i cross the bridge. it used to be 80mph, now its more like 85mph. so 50mph has now turned to 55mph if you see what i mean.

theres not real much to look at in the way of pics, it looks standard. just theres nothing inside the cat any more.

do you know wether it will pass the emission tests or not??

How much did it cost you to do?

I find with mine that a decent service (done by me) makes a hell of a difference as well. Last time I checked - 0 - 60mph was about 12secs which is fine by me in a 8 year old car!

£75 for a second hand cat/down pipe, and about £5 for a new joining clamp.

after a day of driving it, what i can tell you is that it now revs much more freely, and pulls all the way.
