Featured Replies

For the doubting thomas' about the skodas 0-62mph times read the following link

Skoda Octavia - Autocar.co.uk

That should settle the argument:P :P :P

Actually, it doesn't. Autoexpress used GPS gear to measure their long term test VRs and it did the 0-60 is 7 seconds flat.

To be extra picky. I doubt Autoexpress use greater timing software in comparisons to say Skoda or the rest of the VAG group. Think nothing of what magazines go by, and stick to offical figures.. After all, they are the one's who are correct.

These numbers are from finnish boys with octys...

In reality the cars are usually quicker than the stated figures from the manufacturer, VAG seem to be particularly on the cautious side from experience.

I think their figures include pasengers + luggage IIRC.

You rarely see figures quoted from independant tests that are poorer than the manufacturers stated figures....

Evo tested the new R32 on the rolling road. 250hp VW claim. It turned out to be 230hp, and slower figures. Realistically, your not going to plant 7 and a half seconds every time you put your foot down. But, Manufcaturer's are pretty much spot on.

All, I've heard all this about luggage etc, but... That the Fabia's aswell are 1315kg due to luggage and passengers etc, I remember someone putting it on a weigh bridge, and it made over those figures, with no one in it.
