Nokia N95 Pics

Featured Replies

I thought I'd compare and contrast the quality of the 5MP camera on the N95 with my Sony DSC V1 camera which is also 5MP. Everything is on auto on both cameras and they're both set for close up shots.

N95 :

The N95 is definitely not as clear and has noticable chromatic aberations to the shot. the Sony gives a warmer image and has higher definition.

Conclusion? If you want to take pictures, buy a camera.

So true:D

Although if only my Powershot A710 could make the odd call

I've got a friend who is interested in the N95.

Any chance of a few other comparison pics please - indoor and outdoor etc

still decent quality, my N93 with its 3.2MP and carl zeiss lense takes decent enough pics :)

I was ummming and Ahhhhing whether to get the N93 around christmas (or to wait for the N95). Instead i decided to buy a Fuji F30, and a sim free Nokia E60 (no camera). Never looked back. The fuji does what it does best, and the nokia does what it does best. I imagine if my fuji had a phone built in, it would sound not as clear and have chromatic aberations :) lol

You sound like a camera reviewer

Nonetheless, still amazing a dinkie little phone can take this quality of piccies

Might upgrade the pinhole :D

Definitely the warmth you notice most. Camera phones always seem to produce washed out images, albeit at ever increasing resolutions :)

Seems to me that's it's the concentration on increasing pixel count, without seemingly giving to much thought to the quality of the optics.

Here's some more pics. I must point out that we have a blue light in the bay window, so those aren't chromatic aberations that you see:D

In real terms if you'd posted this info 10 years ago people would have said you were drinking far too much.

Nothing to complain at there - in terms of pic quality.

Just someone keeps drifting off to Mazda forums (I suspect), or killing Johymans, and doesn't answer PMs ;)

And the Sony DSC V1:

Yup, pretty damn good I'd say

But the guy still doesn't reply to PMs

What can you expect from a delusional MP3 player / MP6 driver..........

If i remember right, most larger camera phones cameras give interpolated sizes, in reality, the chips only give 640x480 or 1mp

Have you tried the video modes yet?

The HQ video mode is very nice... bit jerky sometimes but looks great when its hooked up to the telly... and the gallery appication is good too

in my opinion i dont think a phone will ever be able to compete with a digital camera for quality as much as i like a good camera phone it will always be digital cameras for photos if that makes sense lol

Well said! lol. The first pic looks pretty good...until you see the second!
