How did you get on, what times did you guys post and more crucially which was fastest MkI or MkII ?.

Got a 14.1 @99mph on my first ever go

It was getting too hot later on in the day though

My first run was my worst, the video'd one where I got everything wrong and the MK1 beat me. bad reaction time 1.1 sec, no traction (axle tramp) and a fluffed gear change

My best run was 14.96, but to be honest I'm sure the car is quicker than that time suggests as this was my first ever go at the qtr mile. Even clocking this one I fluffed my 2nd - 3rd gear change.

The Mk1 is jabba'd with a full Miltek and on a good day puts out 230ish bhp I believe, but as stated elsewhere he was having problems.

I reacon with a bit more practice a bog standard Mk2 like mine could put in a 14.5 or less,

bring on more power !!

I had a head to head with a Golf GTI30 Anniversary, his extra 30BHP meant he beat me by about half a car's length.

It was a lovely day.
