Hi all. Nelly, my little 1.3 felicia Laurin & Klement fell ill yesterday.... very clattery banging sound from the ngine.

On the way to the garage this morning (about 1/2 a mile) and driving very steadily there was a sudden bang and the clattering got worse.

Got the garage to tow me rest of way and they think it could be the crank shaft or on of the pistons that has given up.

So watch this space, there may be some lovely leather seats and other goodies up for grabs......

Not sure of any price or id they're deffinately going to be going up for grabs.... but its looking that way....

I think that the seats might just be staying where they are im afraid.... have found an engine for £176 inc vat + delivery and have a friend that is willing/capable of helping me to fit it....

It'll be cheaper than getting a new car suppose.... plus it keeps a laurin & klement on the road.

those laurin and klement ones are getting rare little beasites to find now.... last time i saw one of those in a breakers yard... i decided to have the seats away, but by the time i'd got home to get some tools, some **** had torn the front seat

Well, when she does finally conk out on me... this will be the first place i'll be heading to sell her goodies!!!

And there is a sad part about getting a new engine in her.... i wont be able to get that lovely N reg Mercedes C250 turbo diesel auto i was looking at now.....

Got a price today for everything... was going to fit the engine myself, but would need to get me and the car over to bridlington (over 100 miles away).

Very glad you're saving it. Land K Felicia's are very rare and it'd be a shame to scrap one. I'd have been interested in saving the whole car myself if you had decided not to repair it.

And it a 1.3 single point injection btw... i think its just the estate l&k's that have the 1.6 engine in them.

Yeh i know... ive just seen that l&k on ebay... must just be mixed body/engine types with them then.

It looks pretty tidy.. and not too much mileage.... 98,000.

Mines done 62,000 btw and the only reason the engine blew was because i foind out from the garage that its been repaired at before that the old bloke that owned it before me ran it dry of oil some time ago and damaged the crank shaft and refused to have it repaired!!!

I see... well now you know... its probably the earlist ones that have the single point engine in i should imagine.

But i can tell you that it mine definately is a single point injection!! lol

And as for the old man... tell me about it... the guy also said they replaced the clutch once for him, and then again just before he died... so he was a bit of a clutch rider by the sounds... He didnt really deserve the car if you ask me... he didnt treat it like he should have...

Have got the engine paid for and will be delivered tomorrow to the garage up the road and then they'll be able to fir it next week!! yay!
