Hated the last TG series? Think you can do better? Tell JC...

I agree that there should be more car reviews, especially new or re-made models - reasonably-priced cars, if you will. (A head-to-head comparison of a Suzuki vs. Chevrolet vs. Hyundai four-door saloons, for example, would be useful for people considering buying a car.)

coq off and go watch 5th gear you loser!!

I can understand why the last series was so "fun feature" heavy as they explained, but would hate the programme to continue in that direction.

I don't want to be forced / reduced to watching 5th gear, or other pretenders to find out which cars I actually have a chance of driving are worth it.

(though I'll watch them anyway ;) )

top gear isn't about testing the cheap little cars its about showing us the cars we aspire too and th cars we will never get to see let alone own. if TG changed so it stopped all teh tomfoolery and started testing the new(not real models just saying) 1.4diesel meriva Vs the 1.7 diesel clio or something and forgot about the super cars, super saloons and driving a hilux off of a sky scraper then i doubt i would watch it along with many other people.

like some in that thread said if i want to know what a specific car is like then i will search for reviews, find a forum and go see one in a dealer for myself and if i want to know what they cost i look at the dealers site and autotrader not a car show.

I enjoy seeing nice cars blasted through exotic locations, roads up mountains that give me sweaty palms just watching (my fear of heights, nothing else)

I enjoy seeing what Stig can get round a track in and how that supercar compares to others.

Has Skoda got no chance of being the 'reasonably priced car' now?

I don't want 'anal' car repoting.I like 'fun' but they need to think whether fun programme = building a road.

More track stuff please.

The problem is that with TG gone all "entertainment" (and some bits are really good, while others are just plain silly), and Fifth Gear being such a crock .... there isn't a really good show on TV that really IS about cars, real every day cars that Joe Public might buy and wants to know if they're any good or not. I quite like Brewer and Mallory (whatever it's called) when that's on, and there are odd good bits on the more obscure channels once in a while, but no mainstream car focused programme for car enthusiasts to watch.

The reason people on internet forums may have a different view from the rest of the TG audience is they tend to be the people who really do want to know about the cars, rather than watching 3 chaps being handsomely paid to **** about having great fun at the viewer's expense.

I wonder where Chris Goffey went? Normally I don't advocate the return of the Goffey era, but sometimes it'd be good to have a serious look at "real" cars.

top gear isn't about testing the cheap little cars

It used to be before it all went pear shaped

Apparently the last series was condensed and shorter than it should have been by a couple of episodes as it had missed the previous slot due to Hammond's accident. Therefore they put in the expensive stuff they had already filmed which was the challenges on the whole, and dropped other car stuff making it seem like it had lost a lot of the car related stuff and turned into entertainment. Just so happened the figures went up!

I'd like a nice mix...entertainment with more cars

watching UKTV G2 of a Sunday, I reckon if Top Gear went back to how it was 2-3(?) seasons ago the mix wouldbe just right, I reckon :)

It got cancelled years ago for a reaason...
