Ok, well I haven't had much chance to go take some nice pics but have had a little play with it and heres a few of the results. They are all on 'normal' though, as I ony just changed it to 'fine' today.

I know about the blob on the right hand side of some of the shots, I used a blower thing to clean the lens which didnt work, so read the book and found out how to lift the mirror to blow air on the low-pass filter which worked and the blob has gone

Ahh, but having manual focus override can bring up some great in focus raindrops on window / out of focus background. Be creative and use rain as a tool for some more photos

it says 10 million effective pixels, but I think it's actually 10.2 if you're going to be pedantic!

Hmmm the spec on dpreview is 3872 x 2592 which is 10.036224 million... but Nikon are claiming 10.2 - couldn't find a max resolution on the Nikon site though...
