Cd Ripping Into MP3

Featured Replies

Is there any software that can rip all the tracks on a CD into 1 long MP3?

Cheers All

Google should bring up some results... ;) - Has for me now you mention it, it would be a useful tool for me too. :D

Not sure whether it can do one long mp3, but I've found audiograbber to be very good.

I got one now, but I'm saying no more than that. ;)

CDex from http://cdexos.sourceforge.net/ will do this. You select the tracks you want and click the third icon down on the right. It then gives you the option of converting to wav or mp3.

It's a very simple program and the only CD ripper I use now.

Seconded for CDex.. its a great app, especially for ripping to other codecs like monkey or OGG. :D

Mostly I am using... :D

Have you got XP and WMP 9? If so it's a doddle with one of the plug-ins available (eg CyberLink MP3 PowerEncoder). It's about a fiver but it really is easy to use plus it will name and sort tracks automatically.

Actually I've just re-read your post. One long file? Is it a mix CD and you're getting gaps when you convert to mp3? Roxio ECDC 5/6 has a 'Merge files' function but Roxio (and Nero) seem a little over complicated for my tastes.
