I've put a new set of tyres on the Superb about 3-4 weeks ago (

At that rate of air loss, sounds like you have run over a nail or screw.

Repair will depend on where the puncture is in the tyre, to close to the edge and a new tyre will be needed.

Repairs if done properly are perfectly safe, indeed I have a repaired tyre now on the octy having found a crosshead screw stuck in it. I ran a repaired tyre for 25 laps on the nurburgring without any problems, if it can be fixed then get it done as it not only helps your wallet but the environment by not disposing of a perfectly good tyre.

Take it off, soak it with a washing up liquid mix and see where its leaking from...... dont forget to check around the rim as it could be just a corroded alloy allowing the air to bypass...

Easy to check the valve yourself; put a wee dab of washing up liquid on the head, and see if it blows into a bubble. As others, I think you've picked up a nail or screw though.

I just found a screw in my o/s/f tyre on Monday.

Took it to the local Kwik Fit and the boy said it couldn't be repaired (even though the screw was a good 1-1.5" in from the outer edge) as it had gone into the tyre at an angle - i.e. not perpendicular to the outside edge.

I didn't believe him so took the tyre away (giving him some story about it being for the dog to play with :lol:)
