One touch Windows

Featured Replies

On my Fabia if you press the elec window switch down you can push it further so it clicks. This feature on my Polo dropped or lifted the window for you without having the hold the switch.

Can anyone tell me if the car has this feature? and if so how do I enable it?

Cheers

You should have one touch windows on you Fabia (from the drivers side).

The switch doesnt control the One Touch function it is controlled by the convienance system and should be programmed at PDi. It will loose its programming however if you have the battery disconnected or it goes flat.

To program with the window up hold the switch upwards for a few secs. Then you should be able to press the button briefly down and it should go all the way down. If you hold it longer it will go down until you let go.

Hope this helps mate

The system isn't foolproof because quite a few of us have had the windows stop on the way up and lower again when closing them on the one-shot system. 'Rebooting' the car seems to cure the problem - until it next happens... :(

Thats because resetting them also re programs the 'roll back' function.

If they arent set properly any resistance on the window motor activates Roll Back as it thinks something is trapped.

Ross, I've enabled it cheers. I held both switches in the up/click position for a few secs. One touch now works for the drivers and the drivers switch for the passenger window.

Driver's side controls only, press the switch and release quickly to lower the window all the way, similar pull the switch and release quickly to raise the window all the way. If you hold the switch down in either direction it will then move the window until you release it. Practice to get the timing right!

There is a sensor (probably on the motor drive and it's voltage or current consumption) to detect if something is in the way when raising the window, and this will cause the window to drop all the way down if tripped - it is this which seems to cause problems with windows going up then down on their own accord. Battery voltage a bit low in the car perhaps?

Global Closing is pretty good, pity it doesnt work of the remote like other VAG cars.

But one advantage is that the windows don't roll down in the event of an electrical storm - as I seem to recall has happened to Audis.

Global closing doesn't work off the remote on my 2001 Passat or our previous 2003 Polo. AFAIK it only works on Audi's - however I would love to be corrected so that the Passat and our Fabia could be programmed.

Is it possible to increase the resistance "threshold" for Octavias?
