These new shocks from koni sound amazing - anyone tried them as an upgrade for confort and performance?

Hi I'm on the fsd's, nice compromise from coilovers.

Tyres are the key to the overall result however. Iv'e jsut gone to neros' for the summer and now after about 15k I get a feel for waht the fsd's are all about.

If you have the funds for coilovers and want coilovers I'd hold / get coilovers. I didn't and wanted to retain some ride quality, but also have fun :)

So they are a lot better than oem dampers, not as good as coilovers...but then I still have my own teeth, which may not of been the case on lowered coilovers.

I'm using stock springs btw.

Thanks for the information Colin.

I just want something better than stock shocks, I will retain OEM springs on my vRS, I want to keep my own teeth and ride height for city bumps and pot holes :)

I have read that there are two different types of bump stops on the Octavia, is there anything you can tell me about this?

I have found a good deal here on the Koni FSD fro the Octavia for

How say would fsd compair to the std koni adj shocks (non coil type)

more comfy obviously but do you think they can match road holding on say 50% firm, as this is the dillema iam having.

I have got sprintline bilstiens but now on my 3rd frt set as keep on leaking. They give good comfort but on the limit they're abit twitchy hence now looking for somthing better.

I've been thinking about these for my PD130 estate but not sure if I should keep the OEM springs or uprate them. I personally loved the ride of the Octi vrs and want a similar feel in what I've now got.

IIRC I'm sure drm_jones was running these on his Mk1 Octy it might be worth dropping him a PM for his thoughts

Koni kits are better than any coilover setup.   They are stronger and will last.  My mate had a set of coilovers and because of the pot holes here in the UK it wasn`t long before one of them was broken.  Because the spring on a coilover is integrated into the shock the spring is weaker.  Great for flat roads and track days, but start hitting pot holes and speed humps and they will fail much faster than a proper shock spring setup like Koni.
