Full system exhaust?

Featured Replies

Hey guys and gals,

Just being a bit curious after looking at the pic's of the "brisk" fabia.

If you get a full system exhaust presuming that means decat and everything else does this mean its litterly a stainless steel pipe (no filter) running from engine to the back? If so.. why would you want it to run all the way to the back? Would an exhaust running out the sides (shorter) be better if your trying to push fumes out as quick as possible? Also.. My bro stated a while ago, it could be possible to adjust the acc. or top speed depending on the number of "bends" in the exhaust. is that full of poo?

Trying looking on the net with info regarding about these things but its harder to find than it seems.

Technically... After your down pipe... your diesel doesn't even need an exhaust. But yes... Simply, the shorter the exhaust... the quicker your turbo's gasses are released.

So....... why doesnt anyone do that? (besides from the huge amount of noise :P)

It could be that it doesn't look nice. It could be down ... to MOT time. It could be down to ... Getting pulled over by Police... etc

That is only adviseable for the track car, not the average day car.....

exhausts also need to be 'a tuned length' - on petrol engines anyway

So you would need to know what length the system needs to be for optimum power (for example the optimum length would 10", so the exhaust would need to be in multiples of 10")
