Help on Chasis Number

Featured Replies

Hello every1...

Can please somebody help me or direct me to somewhere that can explain how to extract manufacturing date from the car's chasis number? If it is brand related, which I assume it is, I'm interested in extracting information for Toyota and Skoda.

Thanks

Best Regards

I'd say take the Chassis number to the appropriate local dealer and get them to run it thru the computer .

Ah, there was a link put up by Denis that went to a site which deciphered the VIN number. Hmm I'll have a search and see if I can find it.

Found this one ( http://www.autoinsurancetips.com/vin.htm ) sure there was another where you just typed in your number and it gave you all the info. I'll have another look

The link you are referring to, Jon, is in the Car Buying Guide section of Briskoda's links here. A Skoda dealer can decode the VIN and engine numbers to give the month and year of manufacture.

Cheers Denis
