UKCAR Seat Leon Cupra Review

Show's a pretty recent Leon if my eyes don't deceive me. Obviously SEAT (which is guided by the Audi part of the group) have recently changed the lighting clusters to match their big brother..... So in some respects both are correct.

Link doesn't work for me.

I've driven my cousins Golf mk4 and think it does have an element of coolness. but it wouldn't be cool if everyone did that.

Didnt the old Volvos used to be green lit?

Will have to se what colour dials my Felicia is.

fixed

Seats did used to be orangey, yes, but the new Leon is a nice bright red with white dials, very similar to modern Audis. :) So you are all right! :P

My Felly dash is green lit too.

Does every Skoda have a green illuminated dashboard?

There are 2 things that I sincerely hope Skoda do not adopt from the rest of the VAG range

  1. The blue dash - it may be my eyes but when there is a mix of bright blue and red I find it very difficult to focus and very distracting - it seems to leap out the dash and poke me in the eye!
  2. The "pimp my ride" white LEDs that "grace" the latest Audis - what the feck were they thinking??? What they really need is for a Knight Rider style walking flash on 'em to match the Christmas lights adorning the owners' houses then they will look REALLY classy
Coming soon to the red light district near you...

Personally I can't stand the green interior lights, bit too tacky & '80s' for my liking. Guess it all comes down to personal taste really as I much prefer the red lights in my mum's A3.....suppose all I have to do is avoid driving in the dark and that should solve the problem!

youre right about taste, personaly i prefer by far the green in my octavia over the red/blue in my golf, even that i am not a fan of green dials... and the red in audi is great...

Not sure why manufacturers don;t give you the option to change the light colour as well as brightness, we're seeing this in many a headunit offering 4000+ colour variations for example sop you can match it to the rest of the dash

I suppose its all about brand differentiation and whether we like the dash light colour or not is irrelvant to the VAG corporate branding people!

Beside my Octy, I have Renault Megane II as a company car. Car is cheap toy, I'd never buy it, but that's my working car. The only two things I love in Megane are handbrake and dash light colour.

As this thread is about dash light, I'll talk just about that. Megane has all in cold white with red pointers. That's exactly the way I like it. I've seen some photos of Octy2 interior with that coulour and it looks great (non-OEM illumination). I'd love to have it.

You can have your light colour changed down here for 390 euro.I don't see the reason why it can't be done in England

The current Ford Mustang (OK not available officially in UK) has variable colour dash lighting (ie blue - green - yellow - orange - red etc).

You set via the dash computer and it varies it by lighting different coloured LEDS.

The option is called "MyColor"

Here is a video:

You can create you own in-between colours (up to 125) by mixing the proportions of the default colours

In Romania changing the interior lights it's a common way of car tuning. It's cheap too, a complete Fabia lights change ( including ICE , door handles, ac , etc. ) it's about 200 Euro ( 160 GBP ) .

Examples for Skoda , click the thumbnail images in the lower right side of the website : ::: Zexstar iluminari auto cu LEDuri ::: .

Anyway, I love the skoda green ilumination, the only thing I want to change is to add a red needle to the instrument cluster, just like on vRS.

  • 4 weeks later...

My Skodas dash and buttons are all illuminated in green. It all looks reather pleasing.

Just noticed my sisters Micra, my Uncles Corsa (this extends to my old Astra) are all illumated white.
