Advice on Colour for new L&K

Featured Replies

Hi Guys, need some advice I'm just about to place an order for a 2.0TDI L&K hatch, was orginally gonna go for cappuccino with the black leather but I've just seen a storm blue L&K with the light grey leather interior, looked nice :) Anyway I need to know how the storm blue puts up with stone chips, scratches etc (had a black L&K octy i before and that wasn't too bad with stone chips) and also how does the grey leather hold up to everyday use from wearing jeans (dye stains etc) as I tend to cover 20,000 miles a year, many thanks

I recently got my black magic L&K with the black leather interior. Have a search under my forum name and find the post with the piccies.

I like the grey but the dealer agreed with black would look better (but then he would say that to get me to sign!)

cant comment on the colour as ive got a green one but ive got the L&K with the creme leather and do about 15,000 miles a year. so far ive found that its kept pretty clean and ive been treating with with the auotglym leather care about once a month. Last week was the first time id noticed any dark staining and a damp microfibre pulled the muck straight off and they look like new again.

Whatever you choose, or wish to choose from, make sure you see it on an Octy in the flesh.

The sprayed panels in the dealer. and the brochure might not be anywhere near what you end up with!

I've got the Onyx leathers and they seem to hold out pretty well...haven't done that much mileage in mine 4k...and its usually just me in the the car! Was tempted with the cream, but decided against it as I'm keeping mine for the long run...and think the darker colour will hold out longer!

I did this (looked at the car in the flesh) and ordered a nice new shiny Graphite Grey Octy. Imagine my surprise when I fond out I was getting a Sahara Beige Octy!! (Thanks Horners) Still, luckily I liked the colour anyway.

How the .... did they screw the colour order up?

I'd have gone mental at them! I love my grey Octy, and wouldnt part with it.

Hmm, I'd love the cream leather (not keen on the grey), but I would be a touch concerned about keeping it looking fresh.

On an L&K, I really like the highland green. Very classy colour imho

Apparently the colour codes are next to each other in the ordering system, at least that

I wouldn't reject the car either if I had waited 5 months for it.

Saying that, I might do if it turned up in highland green ;)

Guy's many thanks for all your replies, the order has been placed for a Storm Blue L&K with the light grey leather :) not gonna be here till the end of July though. Popped into another dealer and saw a L&K in the exact same colours and loved it.

I'd ordered highland green (not Island green, thats kak:pants: ), with cream leather, as it looked fantastic, really classy, and would match my Corrado (12 years and 70K, and the leather still looks pretty fresh). But then the L&K colours changed, to I had Onyx leather/alacantra. Again, looks really classy:P The grey I saw just looked drab and lifeless to me, but each to thier own. I'd also avoid any of the beige range, unless they gave me strong tinted glasses, and loads of discount.

Highland/Onyx

I owned a mk 1 octy L&K, it was black with beige leather interior, unfortunately Skoda went mad on the beige coz the carpets and mats were, the lower half of the dash and all the door cards were beige too, just a little OTT, but it was a nice car. Just a pig to keep clean with 3 kids and living in the sticks with no foot paths (nice muddy roads). I wasn't over keen on having the grey leather to start with coz I thought the carpets would be light grey too, but they're black and only an insert in the door cards are light grey, so I can live with that, roll on July :)

Each to thier own eh.

The roads would be dull if it were full of silver and black cars :)

SWMBO's vRS is going to be race blue and that's a pretty rare colour as well.................

:D

I'm glad the storm blue/light leather combo looks good. Mine arrives on Thursday and I've not seen the paint or the leather colour in the flesh.

Fingers crossed!

Don't forget the obligatory pictures, especially the interior

race blue would have been been my main choice if i could have afforded a vrs tdi but i spotted the L&K at a price not to be missed (and i really liked the colour when i got to the showroom :D (looks poo in the brochure))

most if not all of the colours look cack in the brochure and even worse on the website

yes, they dont do themselves any favours with the bad colour representation

The difference is incredible, the "example" in the brochure may as well not be printed.

It does at least show you what "greeny-bluey" car looks like - but nuances beyond that are lost.
