After much searching for a reasonably priced golf armrest I eventually found one yesterday in a breakers yard for

great mod that one. Does it angle up between the seats when not in use??

I do fancy one tbh.

Yes It can be right up (out of the way), half way down (I have no idea why) or one of several positions similar to where it is now (it goes up and down by about an inch or so each way from where it is now. I have found it's better to have it low around town and then a bit higher (like an armchair ) on long runs. Useful storage compartment too

Out of interest how long did it take to fit and is the colour match ok to the interior??

Alan - Perfect colour match Fitting took about half an hour but it's only a 10 minute job once you know what you're doing (I didn't realise the bracket needed cutting until I couldn't get the central console back!

Rob - It's just the other side of the river. If you go over the transporter bridge and follow the road you eventually come to some traffic lights, take a right there and it's about 1/2 a mile down on the right hand side. I will get the address from the business card they gave me in the morning and post it up.

The remap is on the list - just need new tyres first as I think they are close to the limit now and MOT due this month :(

I'm fairly sure it was A&A yes. I was on my way back from Hartlepool when I spotted one yard so stopped off to check, they didn't have one but sent me up the road to this one...

Well if it was on the right hand side of the road and was a concrete yard with cabins at the front then that was A&A

Just out of interest, are they easy to remove from golfs ?

Sounds like A&A then, it was certainly something&something lol. It was easy enough to remove, you need a T20 torx bit and a 13mm socket (or you might get away with a 13mm ring spanner.

For whoever gets the A&A one, the two golf's are on the top of the rack, one in front of the other. I've had the armrest out of the silver car so don't bother climbing up to it! The lad told me there was one in the blue car in front as well (I didn't bother looking).

Just been on the phone and the guy said "the blue golf doesnt have an armrest, only the silver golf had 1 in which some guy (presume Phil) bought yesterday."

You can give them a try and see if you get a different answer but .......
