As a newbie, ive always thought this bengie guy came across as a ****..

Can’t believe you’ve still got a hard-on over beating that (fabia on the airfield)..

And if that POS in your avatar is your ride then you obviously couldn’t afford a Fab vrs.

Personally.. I’d prefer to rub human $h1t through me hair than drive that w@nk!

you're arent helping the Fabia cause... maybe a double agent! lol

I think it might be along the lines of ... Sh!t being put in your hair, before your allowed any where near it, let alone drive it!

feel free to rub do-do in your hair and if you want i could save some up and post it over if you want :)

and I don't have a hard-on over anything on this site, the reason of that trip the three of us took was to compare a remapped vRS, a remapped FWD 1.8T octavia and a remapped 4x4 1.8T octavia where all three were on a level playing field with the same intentions so we could possibly end the arguements of the fabia Vs the octavia but we obviously failed.

And if that POS in your avatar is your ride then you obviously couldn’t afford a Fab vrs.

as you may have guessed a Fabia vRS doesn't appeal to me and my driving style which probably why i own 2 AWD Petrol turbo vehicles :)

i personally prefer the sound, feel and response of a petrol engine and i earn enough money to not have to worry about fuel economy as well buying a car i don't want but choose not to buy that car :)

and for the record my octavia has cost around 12k so far over the last 3 years anyway and about to spend more on it ;)

Oh, I do laugh when reading Bengie's Fabia posts - only that I know he doesn't really hate them. Seems to be taking a bit of a battering in this thread.

I want the "POS in your avatar" ;) to come to TRAX so I can see if I can get around Silverstone without being overtaken by it (again :D)

I think this is the phase over the years where people finally realize that power walks over torque on a straight road race any time.

welcome back :orb_wave:

I know I need a remap but I've shaken MR2 roadsters without a jot of trouble and then a ****e old old Audi nearly holds me off - I'll replensih my overdraft and then Jabba - prepare for a moaning wanna be - "here I come"

Stock Fabia vRS has around 100bhp per tonne.

Stock MR2 Roadster has around 141bhp per tonne.

If you are in a roll on situation in the Fabia, you may well get the drop on a sleeping MR2 driver, but if he decides to be bothered and use the gearbox, you wont have a chance. If from a standing start, you have even less chance.

Now remap your Fabia and you will see perhaps 140bhp per tonne, and then you will, by the nature of the Fabia torque, be potentially a little teeny bit quicker.

Add a few breathing goodies to the MR2 roadster though and it will go to 161bhp per tonne, the remapped Fabia is again outpaced.

I know these things:cool:

Chris

Oh its on Pikey boy!!!!

we have both wasted yet more money on our POS cars so who knows what will happen :D

hey Mil, [Renegade Master]back once again[/Renegade Master]

Hi Mil

Long time no see. Good to see you back.

Chris

according to parkers the 172 is the same 0-60 as the 172 at 6.7 seconds and the 182 comes in at 6.9 but the v6 is 6.2 for the original or 5.6 for the later version.

so chris either your mate wasn't driving it right or its going to losen up alot over time :)

it wasn't 0-60? not that it matters any way. I know he would beat me in any other situation and I did state that in my thread.

He has said it is loosening up everyday anyway and no doubt it will do and soon will slaughter my fabia. I was just impressed at the time and the other driver was too. He was driving it right, using the flashing light forup change!

Bengie,

I'm not sure why it bothered you that much that you had to get tech data etc about the car and earlier models?? surely you have other things to be doing?

a bit pointless esp. when stating 0-60? as I never said it was 0-60.

however his car did cost 16k and and mine 12k and we were both suprised how well my car hung on to the back of his car thats all, I don't know why it seems such a crime to say this?

just for more info:at the end of the run with my mate I had done 30mpg and he had done 16mpg:D

p.s you didn't beat a remapped fabia on the strip it was a dragon tuning box, there is a bit of difference

I'm sure Bengie will let us know the % differences :P

please stop all the hang bagging Bengie or I will have to get my hand bagout too:thumbup:

Welcome back MIL

It was an AMD tuningbox I think. Worse possibly.

p.s you didn't beat a remapped fabia on the strip it was a dragon tuning box, there is a bit of difference

It was an AMD One Click remap.

HTH :D

Chris

as said above chris it was an AMD one click'd fabia not a tuning box and i always look at the specs of cars as it is something that interests me, in fact i have a quick link to the parkers technical data page in IE. sorry if the things that i like/do/find interesting annoy others but i cannot and will not change for you lot no matter how much you want me to :)

be it at work, out on the road or talking with friends if someone mentions a car that i find interesting in any way i will look at its spec in terms of weight/bhp/torque/price etc etc so please don't think it was special treament for you it was just normal, i just don't always mention the specs of cars that i have looked at.

again sorry if it seems like am getting my handbag out but i'm not, its just the way i am, a bit picky and funny about knowing things and specs :)

AMD/dragon same thing (maybe not)

so what were the specs of this so called race you had against the fabia VRS?

all against the VRS yet you carry on spouting that you beat it.

oh well, shame Chelsea won the FA cup was wanting Man U to win.

maybe the "football specs/stats" show that Man UTD should have won.it's on the day that counts but no one will contest the score due to the "specs/stats" before the game. not the same in the motoring world everything is contested due to stats/specs. on the day you can match a greater car just a shame people don't beleive you

Whilst I actually find myself agreeing with some things you have said, a car is a machine, and as such will perform fairly consistently from day to day. A football team, is made up of poeple, who don't really compare to a machine, especially when playing a game against other people, who wear shorts, shower together, etc.....

I agree, Unless said machine is not run in and is not a FIAT.

Formula 1 is not as consistent as the car performance specs. seen as they are all so similar.

The VRS is what it is, a diesel warm hatch it has it's strengths and weaknesses but when you talk about it's strengths no one believes you, talk about it's weaknesses and everyone agrees.

you can't win.

p.s shifty your car looks really nice in that pic on your signature

the race against was a Fabia vRS with an AMD one click and sorry but i don't know what else had been done to it, an elegence 1.8T with a remap and nothing else and my car which at the time was an elegence 4x4 with remap, fmic, tip, cai, blueflame turbo back system and a knackered turbo(turns out it had a fin missing from the exhaust side and a bent fin on the compressor wheel :o ) and we did a trip in either direction on an empty airstrip plus some other playing and as long as everyone was ready and got an adaquate start the result was always the same. That result was my car flying off at the start due to massively better traction but being about the same as the FWD elegence on the move due to extra weight, greater transmission loses and a poorly turbo and the Fabia pulling very very nearly as hard as the 1.8T but losing out on gear changes.

this was all video by phil from the FWD 1.8T and clearly shows the result and poor Johnny losing out on gear changes.

now obviously something like Jasons car would perform considerably better than Johnny's but someone like des/dave/stuart/eddy would perform considerably better than either me or phil as they had done a lot more than either of us :)

at trax last year my car with fixed turbo was slightly faster than Jason's car in a straight line but the cornering ability, traction and my pure don't give a **** attitude towards driving on track gained me the advantage. now i'm not saying i'm the greatest driver, not by a long way but i had less compassion for my car and pushed it as hard as i could at the time and didn't care that my bumper was rubbing on the ground round every corner, my tyres were screeching adn the car starting to push wide on every corner the only thing that interested me was getting as much power down and catching up the next person but i definitly got out driven and out performed by many on track that day :)

my bold, i tend to find the opposite to be true...

:)

Just a question on this thread:

Anyone got a yellow card for abuse recently?
