rear bump stops

Featured Replies

When I changed my shocks last weekend, I also had to change the rear bump stops as they were totally knackered (broken in two on one side). However the rfont ones were in perfect looking condition. What gives? How come the back ones were so knackered - maybe more road moisture / dirt on them?

Interestingly enough GSF don't list them on their website under Octavias. I ended up going to a place in Bristol called "Vee W Spares", as GSF did not have any stock anyway.... nor did the local Skoda dealer. So given that not many places carry them as stock items that would make me think don't normally fail?

Octy is a 2001 TDi with 114k on the clock....

I think at 114k you've had your money's worth out of them don't you.

You'll find that the likes of GSF only stock a limited amount of items anyway.

The rear ones are very different. Technically they arent bump stops. VAG list them as assistors as they are degined to contact and compress.

Indeed I have had my moneys worth, but I assumed that given the large number of taxis, etc about which have much higher milages than me, the stops might a little more common place. Just incase anyone needs any. I think I paid about
