Change of wheels on a vRS Ltd

Featured Replies

That's what years of teaching by you, does for me.

Besides, I don't recall you making it public that you were getting one!

1.

2.

Glad you like it...I think those wheels divide opinion anyway...but I like them, they are light, strong and still 16", so tick all the boxes.

Today was another good day...

2 sets of parts picked up for it...and one box of bits arrived by courier.

Looks like tomorrow will be mostly spent in the garage...

Hmmm, perhaps this is the obligatory brake and suspension upgrade then??:)

Saw one with OZ SUPERTURISMO WRC on yesterday (M6) looked stunning.

Nope...

The 312mm conversion is already in 'stock' and has been since I had the S3! (used callipers and carriers, new discs)

The suspension...I'm not sure of just yet...can you get any negative camber on these things?

The front is all over the place...

I'll have to try...

I think it needs springs at the very least mucho quickly though.

am not a big fan of them sorry maybe if car was lowered that would help as they aer nice wheels

I like them, and I think it looks good, but could do with being lowered a touch.

Should put these on it:

I'm sorry but those are probably the worst wheels that I've seen yet on a VRS. Each to their own of course, but they look truly aweful!

JEEEEZ!!! Dont hold back mate!!:D BTW, it aint a vRS;)

Sorry, not trying to offend anyone - I've always been one for speaking my mind! It's just my opinion so if he likes them that's all that matters. From the angle in the photo they remind me of the wheels you see on karts.

Its the euro scene mate, bit differnt to normal modifying tbh.

However everyone has their own opinion, most people dont like them in pics, but love them in the flesh.

Mind you, if it was me, i would leave the standard wheels on the SE, mayby do them in gunmetal though

Kerbing them? I would be more worried about crashing with stretched tyres like that.

Forgive me if I am wrong but aren't the wheels supposed to be inside the arches?

Not sure about the exact legislation or if this has been covered before but I always thought the wheels are not supposed to extend past the vertical line of the arch which would make those wheels a bit of a Pink slip job....

Tyres are perfectly safe being stretched, i have never ever heard of any popping off the rim or becomming damaged in any way, and i know of a few people who drive like nutters with them and never had bother.

As for the wheels sticking out from the arches, again 100% legal as long as the tyre thread is inside the arches.

My coilovers are firm enough anyway to prevent the tyre hitting the arch on big bumps.

I would never drive a dangerous car, and did alot of research into the legalities of the wheels and tyre stretch and its all good

Ahh youve gotta love the Euro-look!! ;)
