Like the sound of the cheap upgrade!!!

As long as the U.K map has been updated then it should be well worth it.

Wonder if this will have a postcode search on it????

If you registered after Jan 18th 2004 you are due for a free upgrade. I have mailed TomTom to find out the what's and wherefor's so I will report back. BTW I am due for the free upgrade ##smug mode on## :)

Yup, postcode support is included :) (though the word on the street is that it won't have the granularity of the digitools postcode tool by Niels. I'm hoping that I can continue to use the freebie Niels tool.

Dave.

The tomtom website says that the UK will have 4 digit postcode support which I take to be the likes of IG10, E3 3B(J), RM14, etc and not down to the exact road. It also says that the although the maps are not compatible with tomtom 3 the programs like checkpoint (and I take it the postcode search) and the poi files are. So there should be no problems.

Think i'll look out for the cheap offers on old stock of TomTom2, i quite fancy the Euro map sets ;)
