Thinking of buying a Furby.

Featured Replies

I am considering buying a Vrs but a few of things are putting me off

1. The door handles are not colour coded

2. The one i drove was 1 day old and the light colour seat fabric was dirty already

3. Dealer not interested in doing a deal even though i was prepared to buy

a car there and then.

4. Residuals (value in 3 years time)

Im sure you guys can let me know your views but be a bit gentle as this is only my 1st post.

David,

1. The door handles are not colour coded

You could get them painted, stick some chrome covers on from milotek or save all the hassle and buy a black one.

2. The one i drove was 1 day old and the light colour seat fabric was dirty already.

How many people had sat in the demo before it was road registered? You can get a protective coating applied which means most things will just wipe off.

3. Dealer not interested in doing a deal even though i was prepared to buy

a car there and then.

Proberbly because they dont need to because the waiting list is quiet long, and they can afford to wait for another customer. Best bet is try another dealer.

4. Residuals (value in 3 years time)

Cant comment yet really because the car is so new, but if its like the octy vRS then residuals are far far better than anyone could have guessed.

Welcome to the forum

hi and welcome! :D

the way i see it:

1) get them sprayed or get black

2)get it teflonized/scotchguarded/whatever and don't allow any muck/mucky people in your car. ;)

3) they're selling like hot cakes although you should be able to knock off a few hundred. ring around.

4) i think residuals will be fine. look at the octy vrs, 3 years old and fine residuals.

i'm sure more people will chip in at some point!

enjoy the site!

hey manny, great minds and all that!!!

Give horners in Manchester a ring; I think they are slighlty in need of numbers by March end, if the amount of promotional material is anything to go buy. Also check out the reviews section, plenty of well recommended dealers in there.

Residuals; don't quote me, but it's a very popular car, who knows..I have never really done the residuals scary thought process, just the monthly calculations, hoping it does not loose too much...buy to drive ;)

Also it's a new model in the range, so it's really hard to say, nearest rival the TDi100?

Welcome.

As already stated -

1. Get the handles painted if it's a big problem. Doesn't bother me with the Yellow. Bit of black helps break up the colour. ;)

2. Get some Teflon coating on the seats. Mine stood up well for the first 10,000 miles going back and forth to work and only just looking grubby. (I'm a mucky mechanic!) :D

3. Phone round. More chance of getting a deal if you load it up with accessories though. There is a nice waiting list that the dealers can afford to stick to their prices! :(

4. My old 1.4 16v Fabia was 2.5 years old with 30k on the clock. Paid

Welcome David !

I am considering buying a Vrs but a few of things are putting me off

1. The door handles are not colour coded

Colour coded handles are a bit of a mixed blessing to be honest. My Dad has them on his car and within 4 days one handle had a big chip out of it after some careless idoit swung a door open in a red car (paint marks gave it way). Black has no such problems.

Mainly why I liked the black, looks colour coded allready :)

Cheers for the replies and warm welcome.

I think black will solve the door handle issue although i was trying to not have a black car again (Leon Cupra at present). May opt for the scothguard / guardsman treatment on the fabric and try and hunt down a dealer near the end of the month and thrash out a deal.

Hi and Welcome!

Wouldn't bother with Scotchguard...way too expensive and the Simonez Teflon does just as good may even better of a job and.......it's only
